Original abstract

New trends in automotive industry for diesel engine require EGR coolers with high efficieny which has to keep this efficiency through whole lifetime of the vehicle. This article is about fouling test of two EGR coolers with different technology of heat transfer. Calorimeter results after 80 hours engine test showed us that fin type EGR cooler is better from heat rejection perspective and tube cooler from pressure drop perspective.
