Original abstract
The method of manufacturing castings by the "lost wax process" or "investment casting process" seems to be one of the best technologie for manufacturing various components, particularly from the point of view of its narrow dimensional tolerances (the so called NET-SHAPE technology). A closer look at individual stages of investment casting will, however, show us that such narrow dimensional tolerances are not all easy to achieve. This paper presents an attempt to demostrate the ability of investment casting technology to be one of the most progressive technologies of manufacturing "net-shape" castings.
