Original abstract

The method of an equivalent orthotropic material model has been utilized to model the strip damage in the defined area. The radial and tangential elastic moduli correspond to the material modulus and the tangential modulus equals to zero or very small value to be able to solve the problem numerically. The calculations performed have shown that the damage of 10 mm thickness has a significant influence on the compound vessel safety.
