Original abstract

The paper presents the comparison of the three following methods: 1) method of proportionate semi-quantitative micro-analysis of heavy metals in minerals, slag and ores (original method – PSA); 2) method of X-ray powder diffraction – XRD and 3) method of inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy – ICP-MS. Original PSA method consists of two steps: a) average composition of the basic powder samples establishment and b) chemical analyses of micro-particles in accessory minerals assessment; the contents of elements in these particles have higher atomic numbers than the basic powder samples have. The proportionate amount (in g/t) of the separated powder micro-particles of accessory minerals is estimated. To the comparison were chosen the samples of iron ore from the mine Tereza in region Staré Ransko. The results determined by PSA method, e.g. the chemical content (trace amount) of elements in accessory minerals were verified by methods XRD and ICP-MS. It was found out that the original (authentic) PSA method enabled the semi-quantitative determination mainly of heavy metals in accessory minerals in iron ore with detection limit till 10-2 g/t.

Czech abstract

Chemické složení vzorků zjištěné pomocí semikvantitativní poměrné analýzy bylo ověřeno dalšími metodami; rentgenovou práškovou difrakcí XRD (X-ray powder diffraction) a metodou hmotnostní spektrometrie s indukčně vázaným plazmatem ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy).
