Original abstract
A ball screw and a nut are ones of the most often used motion mechanisms in machining centres. Run smoothness of this mechanism has direct influence on mechatronic properties of the motion axis at the production machine. Measurements of quantities of rotary motion transformation to linear motion performed on a particular machine and given in this contribution indicate run unsmoothness of this mechanism. However, the ball screw is a closed object which does not enable experimental measurement of internal force effects. Therefore, this matter can be researched most of all by modelling. Analytical and numerical simulations given in the contribution indicate influence of internal, load and geometric parameters on ball screw properties. Performed indirect measurements confirm simulation results.
