Original abstract

This paper extensively compares three comonly used types of total prostheses, particularly Poldi, CF-30 and MS-30. We're not focusing only on a stress-strain analysis of the implants alone, but on a stress-strain analysis of the system femur-cement-prosthesis. Mechanical analysis is performed on 3-D model using FEM method (ANSYS 5.6). Geometry data of the femur are obtained from the computer thomography (CT).
