Original abstract

In the contribution, first the principles of the Phase Doppler Anemometer (PDA) measuring technique will be briefly explained. In the main part, authors will present how this technique was used to study liquid spray characteristics leading to an innovative fuel injector for a small annular reverse-flow gas turbine combustor. Radial profiles of Sauter Mean Diameter (SMD) and spray velocities will be presented as well as droplet size histograms showing very different quality of spray in different radial as well axial positions in the spray.
