Original abstract
In the RAGE gene 14 novel polymorphisms and one described previously were identified. Significant association with microvascular dermatoses (MD) irrespective of NIDDM were found for exon mutation G82S and marginally significant for intron variation 1704T. Certain individual genotyp combinations of of G82S, 1704A/T and 2184A/G were significantly associated with the presence of MD both in diabetic and non-diabetic study populations.
