Original abstract
Computational modelling of stress and strain states in the connection of an artery and a man-made vascular graft was realized using FEM programm system ANSYS. The aim was to find the optimal diameter ratio of graft and artery and a convenient length of the connection. The connection geometry was judged from the point of view of mechanics, with the aim to achieve the stress and strain distribution in the artery inside the connection as similar as possible to the intact artery outside it.
