Original abstract
This document provides a brief introduction to image pre-processing. Following algorithms are described – basic operations, image filtering, thresholding, gradient (first and second order) methods, zero passage operator, canny detector, wavelet transformation. Finally, speed and applicability of these algorithms are compared.

Článek uvádí stručně problematiku předzpracování obrazu. Jsou popsány algoritmy pro základní operace, filtraci obrazu, prahování, gradientní metody, pro operátor průchodu nulou, Canny detektor a waveletovou transformaci. Jednotlivé algoritmy byly porovnány z hlediska rychlosti vzhledem k aplikačnímu nasazení.
