Original abstract

An investigation based on numerical experiments was carried out to design a very short draft tube (diffuser) for a swirl turbine. Conical insertions of different shapes were placed along the diffuser axis to remove the backflow zone, which is a source of dissipation and unsteadiness. Resulting configuration is simple and achieves very good pressure recovery.

Cílem výzkumu byl návrh velmi krátké sací trouby pro vírovou turbínu. Účinnější přeměna tlakové energie na kinetickou je dosažena vhodně zvolenou kuželovou vestavbou.
