Original abstract

The mechanical properties and fatigue behaviour of ultrafine-grained (UFG) materials during cyclic loading are by far not well described and understood. This paper presents experimental results of fatigue lifetime and cyclic plastic properties of UFG copper prepared by means of equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) technique. It has been observed that fatigue loading did not result in a substantial change of microstructure. In spite of this it has been shown that the cyclic stress-strain response changes qualitatively in dependence on the stress amplitude. The fatigue behaviour, cyclic plastic strain localization and structural stability are discussed.

Mechanické vlastnosti a únavové chování ultrajemnozrnné mědi během cyklického zatěžování nejsou ještě zdaleka dobře popsány a pochopeny. Tento příspěvek prezentuje experimentální výsledky únavové životnosti a cyklických vlastností ultrajemnozrnné mědi připravené pomocí ECAP technologie. Cyklického namáhání nevedlo k podstatným změnám mikrostruktury. Navzdory tomu, cyklická napěťově-deformační odezva se kvalitativně mění v závislosti na amplitudě napětí.
