Original abstract

A portion of the components produced in big series increases recently, for that reason it is more important to optimize single production process. Development of computer hardware as well as explicit finite element method (FEM) software allowed to simulate production operations, where the material fracture has to be included (cutting, trimming, drilling, machining). The characteristic feature of these processes is that the loading is compressive. In these conditions many of ductile fracture criteria fails. In this paper some selected criteria were investigated. Some of them were programmed as user-defined material models in the FEM program PAMCRASH, which was used for all calculations. The successfulness of every model was evaluated by a comparison of the results of the numerical simulation and the experiment of production operation bold head trimming.
