Original abstract

Forward extrusion of copper rods of various cross sections is numerically simulated to obtain strain distribution and hardening of the formed material.Computational results are compared with the distribution of hardness measured on real tests specimens. Good correlation between the numerical and experimental results in then used as a basis for precise evaluation of strain- hardness reference curves, suitable for industrial testing of formed products.
