Original abstract
V práci je uveden metodický přístup k faktorové analýze. Po zavedení faktorového modelu je uvedena jeho geometrická interpretace a dále jsou diskutovány metody pro odhad parametrů. V závěru jsou uvedeny dva ilustrativní příklady.

English abstract
The article resumes procedures used in factor analysis. After introduction of the factor model there are mentioned the geometric interpretation of the model and procedures for estimation of model parameters. In the end there are discussed two examples showing results obtained by the principal component method and by the maximal likelihood method.
