Original abstract
The paper aims at deformation and stress analysis of the total replacement of the trapeziometacarpal (TMC) joint using finite element method. The TMC replace-ment serves as a surgical treatment of a hand joint disease called rhizarthrosis. Considering that the replacement is influenced significantly by human tissues when loading in a human body, bones and ligaments are included into the model to reach as realistic conditions as possible. Maximum commonly achievable load is applied on the complex model to present a comparison of various loading vari-ants.
