Original abstract

This contribution is a brief overview of research papers focusing on the automated roof detection and analysis in point clouds for solar panel deployment. The European Union tends to increase the use of a renewal energy, which leads to further development in this industry. In this paper we are overviewing several approaches on the roof detection: (i) threshold principles, (ii) rooftop conturing to the cadastral images, (iii) scale grid and then the ideas of determining the solar potential.
