Original abstract

This report describes the parameters and results of a heat transfer simulation of the leading edge skin. The composite leading edge is equipped by seven heating segments operating independently. The icing conditions and necessary heater power output were defined in the previous tasks. The simulation confirms that the power output is sufficient and predicts the operating temperatures in the composite structure. The simulation also predicts the time-on and time-off of the heating elements.
