Modern student research and education in aircraft design

This article describes present university activities of students, how they are involved into a research in aircraft design and their additional education by experience during their participation in projects at the Institute of Aerospace Engineering FME BUT. This article properly corresponds to aims of the Research and Education in Aircraft Design conference. Student internships and collaboration on projects belong to new trends of modern universities and it is very beneficial for both sides. An overview of current student participations in a testing of space devices and finite element analyses of composite materials are presented in this article as well as research topics of Erasmus+ students during their training mobilities, a development of UAVs and successful engagement in international student aviation competitions.

Tento článek popisuje současné univerzitní aktivity studentů, jak jsou zapojeni do výzkumu v oblasti stavby letadel a jejich další výuka pomocí získávání zkušeností během jejich účasti na projektech Leteckého ústavu FSI VUT. Tento článek přímo odpovídá s cílům konference Research and Education in Aircraft Design. Studentské stáže a spolupráce na projektech patří mezi nové trendy moderních univerzit a jsou velmi výhodné pro obě strany. Přehled současných zapojení studentů v testování vesmírných zařízení a kompozitních konstrukcí pomocí metod konečných prvků jsou prezentovány v tomto článku společně s výzkumnými tématy zahraničních studentů během jejich stáží v projektu Erasmus+. Dále je zde popisován vývoj bezpilotních UAV prostředků a úspěšná účast na mezinárodních leteckých soutěžích pro studenty.
