Original abstract
The rheology and properties of feedstocks play a key role for defect-free shaping. Although many authors deal with ceramic co-extrusion, general opinion of the properties of ceramic feedstocks has not been stated yet. We have proposed a simple approach to using the theory of flow for non-newtonian fluids to obtain a bi-layer structure with core-shell geometry. The aim was to prepare samples suitable for the next processing steps, such as debinding and sintering. Core-shell rods with different shell thicknesses and uniform interface between the core and the shell were obtained. Convenient properties of core and shell feedstocks, their rheological behaviour and the effect of rheological properties on the flow during co-extrusion is described and discussed in detail.
