The main objective of the BAANG project is to stimulate the scientific excellence of junior PhD students in the fields of aeronautics, mechatronics, materials mechanics and additive technology. The project involves 6 doctoral students and 3 assistants who are completing a six-month internship at one of the participating TOP scientific institutions. The results of the project will lead to an innovative interconnection of the above-mentioned disciplines and the design of an aircraft structure that is able to change its morphology using new structures and materials.
In addition to cooperation with the top scientific institutions, involvement in other international projects, publication of impacted articles and creation of three new lectures in English performed at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is expected. Junior PhD students and assistants can also develop through the innovative coaching methods that will be made available to them within the project.
The project runs from September 2022 to August 2025 and is funded by the international programme Horizon Europe – Twinning Action.
