Course detail
Automatic Control Equipment
FSI-VPR Acad. year: 2023/2024 Winter semester
The course deals with instrumentation used for construction of control loops aimed at automatic control of technological processes. Students will get a knowledge of sensors, elements of signal transmission and transformation, controllers, and actuators. Instrumentation with electrical and pneumatic transmission of signals is included in the course. Students will test the acquired knowledge on simple tasks in the practical part of the course.

Learning outcomes of the course unit
At the end of the course, the students will be able to operate, adjust, and design automatic control circuits using electrical and fluid instrumentation.
Prerequisites
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of automatic control, mathematics and physics. All at the level of completed courses in the framework of earlier university studies.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught in the form of lectures, which are an explanation of the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Teaching is complemented by laboratory exercises, where the theoretical knowledge gained from lectures is practically verified. Where possible, lectures will be organized for practitioners and field trips to companies dealing with activities related to the subject matter.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
Language of instruction
Czech
Aims
To acquaint students with electrical and pneumatic instrumentation used in automatic control circuits in the terms of its principle, function, and utilization.
At the end of the course, the students will be able to operate, adjust, and design automatic control circuits using electrical and pneumatic instrumentation.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
Attendance at lectures is recommended, attendance at seminars is required. It is at the teacher`s discretion to decide how to make up for missed seminars.
