Industrial Project (N-IMB)

FSI-0PPR Acad. year: 2021/2022 Winter semester

The course is aimed at getting practical skills and experience by means of dealing with a specific problem ordered by industrial company. It insists on application of theoretical knowledge in manufacturing practice. A problem is specified by an industrial company in agreement with appropriate institute or department. The student deals with the problem on his own and the progress is discussed and monitored by a company employee concerned.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will learn how to apply theoretical knowledge on concrete practical problems. They will complete their knowledge by getting practical skills within studied branch or specialization, will be provided with a plenty of information on company functioning and learn some of soft skills, such as communication, presentation, teamwork or self-presentation. In many cases students will also improve the technical language competences.

Prerequisites

Students are expected to be oriented in theoretical knowledge gained during their studies and related to the project. The course is considered to be a preparation to diploma project realization.

Individual work on project in industrial environment.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Graded course-unit credit is based on the results of a project report submission and defence. It is evaluated by a coordinator or appointed project tutor.

Aims

The objective of the course is to prepare a student to deal with specific practical problems and to learn him how to present and state his results. Besides that a student will get ready to work on a diploma project and master the principles of project work.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Project oriented practice is being realized according to instructions of the institutional or departmental tutor (coordinator of industrial company cooperation).
