Learning outcomes of the course unit
Students will be made familiar with managing flights with the aid of instruments and at various visibility conditions. They will learn of flight problems and ensuring the safety of aircraft spacing. Students will learn of automation problems and used automated ATC systems.
Prerequisites
The basic elements of University mathematics and physics.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught through lectures explaining the basic principles and theory of the discipline. Exercises are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.
Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes
The course-unit credit requirements: attendance at exercises (80% at the minimum), working out and defending the semester project and and passing a test. The exam is of a written form (multiple-choice test) and oral form (two questions).
Language of instruction
Czech
Aims
The course objective is for students to acquire the basic knowledge of execution of flights in airspace, airspace separations and classes, tasks of air traffic services, security methods and comprehension of connection between aircraft and air traffic management service in present aviation.
Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences
The attendance at both lectures and seminars is compulsory (80% at the minimum), and it is checked and recorded. The absence (in justifiable cases) can be compensated by personal consultation with the lecturer and working out individually assignments. Individual assignments must be finished and handed in during the course-unit credit week at the latest.
