Course detail
Fundamentals of Power Engineering II
FSI-LZ2 Acad. year: 2021/2022 Winter semester
The course deepens knowledge in the field of thermal machines gained in the courses Fundamentals of Power Engineering and Thermomechanics and introduces the application of basic physical laws especially for rotary thermal machines (steam and gas turbines) and marginally also volume thermal machines that are used in power engineering. Calculating procedures of elementary turbine and compressor stage, construction of different types of thermal machines, its operating characteristics including testing and operation are discussed.
