On the occasion of the renowned international congress CHISA 2024, Prof. Petr Stehlík, Director of the Institute of Process Engineering at Brno University of Technology and Vice-President of the Czech Society of Chemical Engineering (CSCHE), received the prestigious CSCHE Honorary Membership award. The award was received by Prof. Stehlík from the hands of the President of CSCHE Jiří Drahoš during a festive meeting held in the Bethlehem Chapel.
Prof. Stehlík was awarded for his contribution mainly in the following areas:
- He is an expert in energy recovery from waste, heat transfer and alternative energy systems.
- He has popularized the field of "Process Engineering", which he introduced in the Czech Republic, and has been significantly involved in attracting young professionals to study this very promising field with extensive employment opportunities.
- He uses his numerous contacts, on the basis of which he has managed to establish connections with a number of experts from all over the world.
- He has many years of practical experience gained both before joining the University and as R&D Director of the company he co-founded. He has established a very successful cooperation linking basic research (Czech Academy of Sciences), applied research (Brno University of Technology) and applications in the industrial and public sector.
- He was the author of the idea of establishing a strategic research centre (NETME Centre). The proposal of this project was evaluated as the first and the best of all fields in the whole Czech Republic and the centre was successfully implemented.
