In the last week of the summer holidays, 35 selected students of Czech universities exchanged their summer fun for studying at the Summer University, 13 of them studying at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Brno University of Technology. Their programme included expert lectures and a stay in the most heavily guarded areas of a nuclear power plant in Dukovany. Power engineers themselves confirm that the graduates of this unique educational event have a great chance to find employment in the nuclear power industry.
Women's interest in working in the energy sector continues to grow. The group of 35 participants also included 6 women. In addition to theoretical lessons, excursions to the power plant, professional workplaces or an evening leisure programme, the students were also given exams. The final one took place on the last day of the university on Friday, 6 September, with the participation of the dean of FME Jiří Hlinka.
FME student Patrik Pondělek won 3rd place in the knowledge final test and thus became one of the "Kings of the Summer University". Congratulations!
