President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel appointed 73 new professors on the proposal of the scientific and artistic councils of universities. On Tuesday, 12 December, in the Grand Auditorium of the Carolinum in Prague, he and Minister of Education Mikuláš Bek personally handed over the appointment decrees to them. Among the newly appointed professors is Luboš Náhlík from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, BUT.
Professor Luboš Náhlík is working at the Institute of Solid Mechanics, Mechatronics and Biomechanics FME and at the Academy of Sciences, specifically at the Institute of Physics of Materials. He received his professorship in Applied Mechanics. His research interests include material fatigue and durability, fracture mechanics and computational mechanics.
