Brno has the ambition to become a centre of biotechnological research and education. This is one of the reasons why the Regional Chamber of Commerce, together with Masaryk University and the City of Brno, have established the Life Sciences 4.0 platform, creating thus the synergy between research and manufacturing companies, universities and business entities. Brno University of Technology is also a member of the platform, so do not miss the news in this area.
The aim of the Life Sciences 4.0 platform is to promote and develop innovation in pharmaceutical manufacturing, telemedicine, green transition and other disciplines related to life sciences. The aim of the association is to create opportunities for meetings, sharing of experience and cooperation, especially in the Brno region, but also within the Czech Republic.
"I have been interested in what is happening in the association for a long time, so I know that there are many more topics discussed in the life sciences than it might seem at first glance: companies in this field deal with, for example, cyber security and IT solutions, reduction of energy consumption or wastewater treatment. These are all things in which BUT can offer its expertise, so there are really a lot of opportunities in this area," says František Lízal of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of BUT, who works as the coordinator of association activities for BUT.
