Young engineers from TU Brno Racing team went to three races of the Formula Student World Series in August. They did well with their Dragon e3 monopost and returned home with second, fifth and tenth place overall in a tough international competition.
This year the formula team from BUT literally went "from race to race". Right at the beginning of August, from the 1st to the 6th, the students went to the Hungaroring in Hungary, from where they brought back an overall fifth place in Formula Student East and also three medals from the sub-disciplines: silver for Engineering Design and Efficiency and bronze in the Endurance category.
The very next week they raced at the domestic Autodrom Most. At the Formula Student Czech Republic from 7 to 12 August, they won second place overall, thanks to their exceptionally good performances in the Engineering Design, Autocross and Efficiency (three second places) and Endurance (third place) categories. They also took home a special "Scrutineering Star" award.
The team finished the season in Hockenheim, Germany, where Formula Student Germany took place from 14 to 20 August. There, Brno students also tried autonomous driving, i.e. a race without a pilot, for the first time in a live race. From Germany they took the tenth place overall.
