Genetic Algorithms (GA) are heuristic optimising algorithms inspired by adaptive and evolutionary mechanisms in natural organisms. The best use of GA can be found in solving multidimensional optimisation problems, for which analytical solution is unknown (or extremely complex) and efficient numerical method is also not known. Commonly used GAs do not copy the natural processes precisely. The contribution shows how to realise some aspects of biological inheritance and how to use them while implementing the GA.

Genetické algoritmy (GA) jsou heuristické optimalizační algoritmy inspirované adaptačními a evolučními mechanismy živých organismů. Nejlepší využití GA je v oblasti řešení multidmezionálních optimalizačních úloh, pro které nejsou známé ani analytické, ani efektivní numerické metody řešení. GA obvykle nekopírují přírodní procesy zcela přesně. Článek ukazuje možnosti zahrnutí některých aspektů biologické dědičnosti při implementaci GA.
