Method: The fundus photographs were elaborated by ACC (Adaptive Contrast Control) method to increase the contrast and vessels. The distribution of vessel length for diameter was found and the total vessel length for a given diameter was calculated. The capillary endings were identified by means of the circle plotted from the middle of capillary diameter. The sector of circle non-intersecting the capillary that reached a given value was used as criterion. Results: In high risk of visual loss, the number of endings was found to be more then 1,5 higher in comparison with the findings in low risk of visual loss. Discussion: The method could be improved by introduction of coefficients considering the capillary ending location on fundus.

Úkolem bylo určit střední hodnotu a rozptyl počtu cévních zakončení u zdravých jedinců a postižených diabetem mellitu a získané výsledky porovnat.
