Originální abstrakt

The restraining effect of second phase particles on an advancing crack front is analyzed. Particle/matrix interface properties are incorporated in a certain way. The toughness increase is predicted for several combinations of micromechanical parameters of composite and the strain hardening exponent of second phase.
