Predictive maintenance is asserting oneself in praxis most often in the time. It presumes intervention to systems in optimal moment – just in time. Jus technical diagnostics decides about it in order to correction, renewal of worn-out part etc. was neither premature nor late. The paper is intended in more detail on all coherences of diagnostics and maintenance; it is interested methods and devices of technical diagnostics, which is asserting in predictive maintenance.

V dnešní době se v technické praxi nejčastěji uplatňuje prediktivní údržba. Ta předpokládá zásah do systému v optimálním okamžiku – právě včas. O tom, aby oprava, výměna opotřebované součásti apod. nebyla ani předčasná, ani pozdní, rozhoduje pak právě technická diagnostika. Příspěvek se zamýšlí podrobněji nad všemi souvislostmi diagnostiky a údržby; zajímá se o metody a prostředky technické diagnostiky, které se v prediktivní údržbě uplatňují.
