The energy independence of heating systems with low emissions is of key importance and has become even more vital in the last years. Implementing new heating technologies with a higher share of clean renewable energy sources and heat pumps is needed. The integration of different energy sources for the resilient work of the system needs the proper estimation of share for each thermal source. At the same time, the evaluation should be done from the economic, environmental and energy aspects. The present work proposes an approach based on multiobjective optimisation for evaluating alternative energy sources in heat energy generation. The method is based on estimating building energy performance and introduces energy, environmental and economic performance indicators to compare different scenarios. The evaluation of the presented model and the demonstration of the approach are presented in the case study, where a commercial building located in Kharkiv – Ukraine, is considered. The integration of natural gas condensing boilers, heat pumps and flat solar collectors is proposed. The optimal solution was found resulting in 36 % use of solar energy and an air-to-water heat pump, which allows reducing the energy consumption of 1,557 GJ with economic savings equal to 28,852 EUR. The payback period of the proposed scenario is 5 y.
