This article focuses on the challenge of agricultural tractor multi-body dynamics modelling. Simulations enable to easily inspect the dynamic characteristics of the tractor across the whole range of work conditions. A multi-body model of the agricultural tractor capable of evaluating these characteristics is presented. Two simulation model configurations are proposed based on the front axle suspension designs – the rigid swinging axle and the axle with the independent suspension. A series of simulations is performed to explore the overall behaviour of the model and to identify the parameters that influence the driving comfort the most. The tire stiffness is the parameter which has great impact on the driving comfort, especially riding the road with small obstacles. Independent suspension proved to be the most efficient in reducing cabin vibrations on one-side obstacles.
