Originální abstrakt

This paper presents criteria to find distinctive differences that determine whether the cylinder is damaged or undamaged using acoustic emission. The study concentrates on the analysis, investigation, performance, practical constraints, and the new applications of the pneumatic actuators. Signal analysis sheds light on the relationship between root mean square (RMS) of acoustic emission signal, displacement and time to describe the movement of piston related with behaviour of the signal during progress and retreat strokes. The quality of the cylinder was determined by the calculation of the total value of RMS in different stages of the working cycle. In particular, number of undamaged pneumatic cylinders were tested by acoustic emission, after that artificial defects were made in the same cylinders. Distinctive differences between damaged and undamaged cylinders were defined by the number and distribution of the counts, and comparing maximum signal between progress and retreat stroke. The obtained signals from two sensors and one sensor were compared.
