Originální abstrakt

This study deals with the experimental investigation of liquid curtain evolving inside a sprinkler head of the pilot-plant wet shower scrubber. The experiments were carried out in a transparent enlarged model of the sprinkle head. The liquid was atomized by a spiral nozzle which produced full cone pattern consisting of three liquid curtains in the shape concentrically ordered hollow cones. The investigation was focused on determination of the relevant liquid atomization zones, droplet size distribution along the liquid sheet, droplets radial velocity and effective spraying angle of each cone. The LDA and PIV methods were used for the observation of the evolving liquid curtain. An Nd:YAG laser-pulse light with a 5 ns pulse length and a Canon D70camera with an EF 100 mm f/2.8 USM Macro objective were used. It is necessary to compare the results obtained from the experiments with the CFD simulation in the future.
