Při zvyšujících se otáčkách turbíny odstředivá síla závaží stlačuje pružinu a lopatky turbíny jsou v rotujícím stavu zasouvány do prostoru mezi sací hrdo turbíny a vnější krycí prstenec, tím se lopatky turbíny schovávají před větrem, stříška přitom současně uzavírá výstupní ventilační potrubí. Tím se sníží otáčky turbíny, pružina přemůže odstředivou sílu závaží a rotující celek se opět vysune nahoru do větru. Tak je udržována sací výkonnost turbíny v požadovaných hodnotách.

At an increasing number of revolutions of the turbine, the centrifugal force of the weights compresses the spring and the blades of the turbine are, while still rotating, drawn into the area between the suction socket of the turbine and the outer round housing. Thus, the blades of the turbine are not fully exposed to wind, and the roof closes simultaneously the outlet ventilation duct. This decreases the number of revolutions of the turbine, the spring overcomes the centrifugal force of the weights and the whole rotating unit shifts back upwards and becomes fully exposed to the wind. This maintains the suction performance of the turbine at the desired values.
