Swirling flow arises in the outlet diffuser of a hydraulic turbine for partial load operation regimes. Proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) based on the method of snapshots was applied to large data sets from unsteady CFD simulations. POD enabled to extract the most energetic coherent structures of the flow field.

Bylo studováno vírové proudění na výstupu z oběžného kola vodní turbíny. S využitím metody vlastní ortogonální dekompozice (POD) bylo provedeno nalezení nejvíce energetikých vlastních tvarů proudění.
