Proseminar in Physics II

FSI-0FR Acad. year: 2021/2022 Summer semester

Proseminar in physics II complements the lecture General physics II given within the frame of the speciality Physical engineering. Students taking this seminar can practise and acquire basic knowledge of electromagnetism in suitable form to be able to solve physical- and technical problems. These abilities are necessary to understand fundamentals of many technical branches.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Knowledge of definitions, laws and their validity conditions in the range of the syllabus. The emphasis is laid on the encouragement of abilities to solve physical and technical problems by virtue of general information obtained from the lecture General physics II.

Prerequisites

Vector calculus. Integral and differential calculus. Newton’s laws. Conservative force field in mechanics.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through exercises which are focused on practical topics presented in lectures.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Students are evaluated on the basis of discussion on topics explained during the course.

Aims

Proseminar in physics II is drawn up to support students’ active approach their study content. Discussed topics are influenced especially by students. The main aim is to actively follow the commentary by means of the intensive collaboration between the teacher and the student.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

For passing out the Proseminar in Physics II the attendance at the courses is obligatory. In the case of excused absence an individual way of compensation can be arranged.
