Course detail

Physical Laboratory II

FSI-TR2 Acad. year: 2021/2022 Winter semester

The course is intended as an introduction to base measurement techniques, to an experiment preparation and data processing. It familiarises students with the measurement of advanced experiments from the area of electromagnetic field, geomagnetism, geometrical and wave optics.

Learning outcomes of the course unit

Students will be made familiar with principles of measuring systems, measuring of the physical quantities and data evaluation. This process is based on individual experimental work with the selected experimental apparatus.

Prerequisites

Knowledge from the area of the electric current conductivity in metals and semiconductors, basic equations of the geometrical optics, description of the interference.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through practical laboratory work.

Assesment methods and criteria linked to learning outcomes

Each student has to write tests and reports of his/her measured results from all twelve seminars.

Language of instruction

Czech

Aims

The main aim of the course is to teach students how to independently carry out measurements of the basic physical phenomena, to process measured data, to calculate measurement errors and to discuss them. Students will be acquainted with the function principles of the basic measurement equipments.

Specification of controlled education, way of implementation and compensation for absences

Attendance at seminars is checked by teacher. Absence may be compensated for by the agreement with teacher.
