Statement of the Dean on the academic community of the faculty (1st March, 2022)
"Dear students, dear colleagues,
I appeal to the togetherness of the academic community in these difficult times. Our solidarity should belong to all people affected by the war in Ukraine and the current escalation of tensions between the Russian Federation and the rest of the world. Please do not misinterpret the nationality of our classmates or colleagues with their political views. Do not force anyone, not even Russian or Belarusian nationals, to declare their disapproval publicly, unless they willingly decide to do so. They may have a concern about the safety of themselves or their loved ones at home (often at risk of imprisonment at home). I´m convinced that the vast majority share our values, which they prove by their studies or life here. Let us show understanding to everyone affected by the situation. I´m convinced that understanding is not a demonstration of weakness, but a manifestation of strength and humanity. Everyone is losing in this terrible war, let us minimize these losses together."
