The TU Brno Racing student team, which brings together students from across the BUT, unveiled this year's Formula Dragon e3 on Friday. They will compete in the global Formula Student series, where they will try to improve on their 30th place in the world ranking of 300 teams in the electric formula category last year. A charity auction was also held as part of the rollout.
Guests of the rollout on Friday 28 April completely filled the Q auditorium at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. During the evening, the team presented this year's innovations in the car's design, and after 7pm, the unveiling of the monopost took place.
The traditional charity auction followed, with the team donating five items related to the formula. The dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Jiří Hlinka also auctioned his piece. In total, the auction raised CZK 20,700, which the students are donating to charity. Karol Čukan, the director of the Czech Red Cross Office, came to personally receive the symbolic cheque.
The evening was hosted by the most famous Slovak Formula 1 commentator Števo Eisele. The official rollout was followed by a social part of the event, where guests could see some of the previous Formula One cars or try piloting the car in the simulator.
